Drew Bathlow L.Ac

Drew Barthlow L.Ac is a graduate of the University of Georgia and he has recently returned from Hawaii, where he spent four years earning his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the World Medicine Institute. The World Medicine Institute was founded by Dr. Chang Yi Xiang, a 64th generation Heavenly Taoist Master from Long Hu Shan in Jiangxi, China. Dr. Chang was trained from the age of six specifically to bring this ancient healing art to the Western world. Drew had the honor of working closely with Dr. Chang during his time in Hawaii, assisting her in clinic as she treated patients, developing herbal formulas, and practicing Qigong. In the fall of 2007 he was among a few students chosen to accompany her to China to visit several teaching hospitals and to attend the International Taoist Conference in Hong Kong.

Upon graduating in the Spring of 2010, Drew began practicing in Honolulu and, seeking to deepen his understanding of Chinese Medicine, joined the faculty at the World Medicine Institute, teaching Diagnosis, Point Categories, and Qigong. Serving the school in this capacity afforded him even more one on one learning experience with Dr. Chang as well as the other heads of the school, Dr. Eric Ono and Dr. Gayle Todoki.

After six years of living in Hawaii, Drew and his family decided to return home to Georgia to be closer to friends and family, and to serve the community of Athens that was so generous to him while he was attending UGA.

Drew is adept at treating a wide variety of conditions, yet his specialties are in treating stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, spiritual/emotional issues, digestive disorders, and acute and chronic pain. He very much enjoys working with raw herbs, which are typically decocted into a tea or made into a salve, and will be working to add this new element to our services at the Acupuncture Center. He is excited to be joining the team at the Acupuncture Center of Athens and we are excited to have him with us.
